General Information
- All students must bring their own instrument, mouthpiece, pencil, name tag, and music to each rehearsal.
- Brass players must bring their own water containers or newspaper (discard after each rehearsal).
- Percussionists are expected to provide their own sticks, mallets, accessory percussion instruments, and other small percussion instruments. Please be sure to make an inventory list of your school's equipment so that all percussion gets returned to the proper school after each rehearsal and the concert.
- Students are expected to display exemplary behavior and have their music prepared at the highest level for every rehearsal. Disruptive behavior will result in automatic removal from the band.
- Students are expected to be early to every rehearsal. One excused absence will be granted only in the event of illness, injury, quarantine, death in the family, court attendance or approval, or other situation as approved by the event chairperson. One tardy or early departure will be granted only with a written note from parents and for the reason of illness, injury, quarantine, death in the family, court attendance or approval, or other situation as approved by the event chairperson. Students with excessive absences (2 or more) or tardies may be dismissed from the band at the chairperson’s discretion.
- Please inform your parents to be patient with the auditorium and custodial staff while waiting to get into the auditorium. Balloons and large floral bouquets are not allowed. Camera tripods will not be allowed in the aisles or the back of the auditorium.
- Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from all events.
